Most oil resistant food packaging uses a fluoropolymer containing PFOA an FTOH’s which are suspected of degrading into PFOA. Given the EPA’s scientific advisory board unanimously concluded that PFOA is a likely human carcinogen and retail giant Wal-Mart’s release that they were working with manufacturers to reduce PFOA in products sold in their stores, we knew something had to be done and done quickly. We created Paper Shield to replace traditional PFOA containing chemicals right at the paper mills where it is being used today while being more effective and at a lower cost and. We never use PFOA in manufacturing nor contain FTOH’s or other volatile alcohols because being responsible doesn’t need to cost you more.
